Bio

Lauren Usher is a distinguished communications and marketing strategist who collaborates with entrepreneurs, organizations, and brands to craft compelling narratives and forge meaningful audience connections. Drawing from extensive research and over a decade of practical experience in strategic marketing across diverse sectors, she has established a robust methodology for managing product launches, orchestrating events, directing media campaigns, and cultivating B2B partnerships that demonstrably enhance brand visibility and revenue generation.

A native of Chicago, Illinois, Lauren's academic foundation was established at the University of Pennsylvania, where she earned her B.A. in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics. This interdisciplinary background provided a theoretical framework that she would later apply to communications strategy. Her professional trajectory began in luxury fashion communications, where she developed specialized expertise working with prestigious houses including Yves Saint Laurent and Tom Ford, before expanding her consultancy practice to encompass music, education, and non-profit sectors.

Currently based in New Orleans, Lauren applies empirical research methodologies to help organizations—ranging from emerging startups to established corporations—develop and implement data-driven media strategies. Her scholarly approach to communications is complemented by her dedication to community development, evidenced through her work establishing sustainable community gardens and curating women's arts initiatives. Her academic-practitioner model has proven particularly valuable in her collaborations with significant regional institutions, including the Louisiana Department of Health's "Bring Back Louisiana" campaign and the historic Dew Drop Inn music venue and hotel development project.

As a resident scholar in the Fairgrounds neighborhood and Communication Chair on the board of Broad Community Connections, Lauren integrates theoretical frameworks with practical applications to foster community development along the Broad Street corridor, contributing to the area's cultural and economic revitalization through evidence-based communication strategies.
